• Q. What type of school is Kent School?

  We are a coed, independent, Preschool through Grade 8 day school. We serve children from age three through elementary and middle school grades from throughout the Mid-Shore region of the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Queen Anne’s County and Kent County including but not limited to Chestertown, Centreville, Kent Island, Worton, Galena, Millington, Kennedyville, Cecilton, and Church Hill.

  Kent School is non-denominational..

• Q. What accreditations and affiliations does Kent School have?

  We are accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS),  we are a member of The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) ) and The State of Maryland.

• Q. What is the total number of students in the school?

  Our current enrollment is 154 students

• Q. What is the average class size?

  The average class size is 15.

• Q. What is the ratio of students/teacher?

  We have an 8:1 student to teacher ratio.

• Q. Do you offer financial aid?

  Yes, we award close to $325,000 a year in financial aid.

• Q. Are the books supplied by the school?

  Yes, Kent School’s tuition is inclusive of fees and books.

• Q. What extra-curricular activities are offered?

  We offer chorus, after-school enrichment programs (chess, coding and robotics and more) and interscholastic athletics.

• Q. Do you provide transportation/is transportation available?

  Yes, transportation is offered using Kent School 15 passenger vans. Please see the email Tracey Lumpkin, Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations for more information.

• Q. Do you have after school care? Before school care?

  Yes. After school care is provided and runs from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Middle School students may arrive as early as 8:00 a.m. Lower School and Little School students may arrive as early as 8:15 a.m.
