Your Admission Path to Kent School
We know choosing the right school is an important decision. That’s why we’ve made our admissions process simple, welcoming, and tailored to your family. Our rolling admissions allow you to apply at a time that works for you.

Here’s how to get started:
Little School Checklist
- Application: Provided by Kent School and completed by parent
- Parent Checklist: Provided by Kent School and completed by parent
- 60 to 90 Minute classroom Visit: scheduled through the Admission Office
Lower School Checklist
- Application: Completed by parent
- Record Release Form: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Transcript Request Form: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Teacher Recommendation: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Classroom Visit, testing and evaluation:
- Kindergarten applicants – 90 minute visit
- Grade 1 applicants – 8:45am to Noon
- Grade 2-4 applicants – 8:45am – 3:00pm
Middle School School Checklist
- Application: Completed by parent
- Record Release Form: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Transcript Request Form: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Language Arts Teacher Recommendation: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Math Teacher Recommendation: Provided by Kent School and to be given to current school
- Schedule classroom visit, testing and evaluation – 8:30am – 3:00pm
1. Visit Our Campus & Meet Our Team
Experience the Kent School difference firsthand. Schedule a tour to explore our beautiful campus in historic Chestertown and see our vibrant learning community in action. You’ll connect with our Assistant Head of School for Advacement to discuss your child’s needs and learn more about our programs.
2. Student Experience & Evaluation
We want your child to feel at home. Depending on their grade level, they’ll spend time in a classroom setting to experience a day at Kent School:
Grades 2–8: Full-day class visit and evaluation
Kindergarten & Grade 1: Half-day class visit and evaluation
Little School (Ages 3–5): 90-minute class visit and readiness evaluation
3. Complete Your Application & Get Your Decision
The final step is submitting your child’s school records to complete your application. Once we receive all required documents, our team will review the application and provide an admission decision within two weeks.

Tuition & Fees
At Kent School, tuition is inclusive, covering all academic fees, books and learning materials, and school-sponsored field trips.
*Additional costs may apply for transportation, interscholastic athletics, after-school clubs, extended day care, and other optional activities.

Little School (Ages 3–5)
- Four days per week: $9,700
- Five days per week: $10,700
Kindergarten: $14,950
Grades 1–4: $19,300
Grades 5–8: $20,650
Flexible Payment Options

- Two-payment plan
- Single-payment plan
Making Kent School Affordable
Kent School is committed to ensuring that an exceptional education is accessible to families. Over 40% of our students receive tuition assistance, and we encourage families to explore their options.
Typical tuition ranges in the 2024-2025 academic year were as follows:
Kindergarten through Grade Four: $8,100 – $17,300
Grade Five through Grade Eighth: $8,690 – $18,500
Tuition Assistance for Grades K–8
We partner with Clarity, a third-party financial aid platform, to determine tuition assistance eligibility. Families can apply through Clarity to receive a personalized tuition assessment
Little School Tuition & Tax Benefits
While tuition assistance is not available for Little School, tuition may qualify as a federal tax deduction We recommend consulting a tax professional for details.

Note: Returning families must reapply each year for financial aid.
