An Exceptional Education, Within Reach

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions your family will make, and cost shouldn't keep you from the right one. Here's an honest look at what a Kent School education costs, what it includes, and how we help families make it work.

What affordable means

Making a Kent School Education Possible

If you're exploring private school, chances are you've already asked yourself the honest question: "Can we actually afford this?"

For most families, "affordable" doesn't mean inexpensive. It means attainable, flexible, and worth the investment. At Kent School, we don't believe an exceptional education should feel out of reach, and we work closely with families to build a clear, personal path to making it possible. We'll walk you through every piece of that path: the tuition, what it includes, the aid, the payment options, and the value behind it all.

Tuition for 2026-2027

We believe in being upfront about cost. Below is our published tuition by grade level. Keep two things in mind as you read it: our tuition is inclusive (more on what that covers just below), and the published figure is the starting point and not what many families actually pay once aid is factored in.

What's Included

One Tuition, Very Few Surprises

When you compare schools, it's easy to fixate on the tuition number. But the true cost of a school is what sits underneath that number — and a lower sticker price stacked with add-on fees can end up costing more than an inclusive one. Kent School uses an inclusive tuition model.

What Families Actually Pay

Here's the part most schools leave out. Because more than 40% of our families receive tuition assistance, the published tuition is not what many families pay. Aid is need-based and personal to each family, so there's no single "discount," but to give you a realistic sense of the range:

Kindergarten - Grade 4

families receiving aid paid roughly

$8,100 - $17,300

Grades 5 - 8

$8,690 - $18,500

families receiving aid paid roughly

Every family's financial picture is different, which is exactly why we'd rather talk with you than have you guess from a chart. The only way to know what Kent School would cost your family is to start the conversation.

How Financial Aid Works

Financial Aid, Made Simple

We partner with Clarity, a secure third-party platform, to assess each family's ability to pay in a fair, personalized, confidential way. The process is three steps:

Create your account at Clarity and start your application

Submit your family's financial profile

Receive a personalized tuition assessment from Kent School

Returning families reapply each year so awards reflect current circumstances.

You do not need to complete a Clarity application before talking to us.

Reach out at any stage and we'll walk you through how aid works, what Clarity will ask for, and whether your family is likely to qualify.

Payment FLexibility

Payment Plans That Fit Real Budgets

Affordability is also about flexibility. Families choose the plan that matches how they budget.

10-Month Plan

Steady monthly payments.

Best For

Families who prefer predictable, month-to-month budgeting.

Two-Payment Plan

Fall and spring installments.

Best For

Families aligning payments with seasonal income.

Single-Payment Plan

Paid in full, once.

Best For

Families who prefer one simple annual transaction.

Sibling Loyalty Discount

Families with three or more children enrolled at Kent School receive a tuition discount. We recognize the commitment families make to Kent School and we want to support their loyalty.

A note about Little School

Tuition assistance isn't available for Little School, but your tuition may qualify for federal dependent-care tax benefits. Check with your tax advisor.

Why It's Worth It

There is More Here

A number on a page can't capture what your child actually receives. At Kent School, your child isn't just doing school — they're known. In classes small enough that every child is seen, with teachers who notice when a child is ready to be stretched, or needs a steadier hand.

~15

students per class

8:1

student-to-teacher ratio

PreK-8

full continuum on one campus

That shows up in the program: a full K–8 experience with Chesapeake Bay Studies on our waterfront campus, Learning Strategists for individual academic support, Spanish from Pre-K, a rich arts and athletics program, and Middle School electives from robotics to culinary arts. It's grounded in research, too — our nine-year partnership with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning makes Kent the only PK–8 school in Maryland engaged in that nationally recognized work.

And we're investing in more. The Osprey Innovation Center and a renovated Middle School open in September 2026 — a direct reinvestment in the education your tuition supports.

As parents, you should expect more. Your children deserve more. There is more here.
