Spring Musical at Kent School is Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.

May 16, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Friday May 16th and Saturday May 17th, members of Kent Schools class of 2025 will perform Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. The Musical Theater International website describes The Little Mermaid Jr. as, “an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.” Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s stories, The Little Mermaid Jr. takes viewers on an enchanting journey under the sea. “In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.”

The class looks forward to embracing their parts through song and dance as they act alongside one another for the first time. Musical Director Matthew Wirtz is confident the students will shine. “Their hard work will show on the stage when they perform in front of an audience. I am proud of what the students have accomplished.”

The performances are open to the public and admission is free. We encourage you to join us.

Middle School Moments Matter

It’s particularly important to focus on the moments in Middle School as it’s a time when students grow and change rapidly while navigating the awkwardness of puberty. And, while it may seem like a blur, the truth is, Middle School moments matter in ways that often aren’t fully understood until later in life. The friendships formed, the challenges faced, and the lessons learned during these years have a profound impact on who students become as individuals.
