Welcome from the Head of School

As I begin my first academic year as Head of Kent School I am excited to help you learn more about the school, its programs, and the unique learning community that is Kent School. One of the many reasons I am grateful to be at Kent School is because I get to see and experience the joyful learning that takes place here each and every day on our beautiful riverside campus.

From Little School to Lower School to Middle School it is my firm belief that the educational foundation we provide at Kent School is essential to create the kind of world leaders we need in our increasingly complex world. Kent School’s child-centered approach nurtures students who possess empathy, are able to work effectively on teams and who are, most especially, critical and creative thinkers. Our foreign language concentration in Spanish, Chesapeake Bay Studies, Middle School Geography, Third Grade Global Studies and even the recent landing of our Educational Passages boat The Osprey in Wales, all foster global citizenry. Our students care deeply about their community and the environment, and they bring kindness and integrity to their endeavors inside and outside of School.

As we build on our nearly 50 year history, the meaningful traditions that are a hallmark of a Kent School education will continue to  be celebrated even as we look to the horizon of our future and bring innovation to our approach to teaching and learning.

I am delighted that you are exploring the Kent School website and I hope you will come visit us in person to experience firsthand the joy of a Kent School education.

Go Ospreys!
